"You DON'T understand ..."

It's not that I'm unintentionally being late with this entry. It just took me a minute to gather my thoughts. There was just too much going on with first hearing about Morgan then Bernie so I just waited. Last week I told my mom about Bernie being in the hospital and she said "yeah but he's getting better right?". I gave her a strange look and told her that the last I heard, his Ocean's Eleven buddies were sending flowers and well wishes. For some reason that didn't sit well with me. So although news of his passing didn't shock me, I was still taken back a bit.

The Bernie Mac Show became a staple of my insomniac nights. The show was cute, whitty but not quite as funny as his stand up routine. However I looked forward to his toe to toe battles with Nessa, gentle approach to BabyGirl and utter look of disgust for Jordan at times. Bernie also had many memorable big screen characters. Jangle Leg, Pastor Clever and Dollar Bill being on the top of my list. Bernie will be missed.
